The Northern Pike ( esox lucius) is a predatory fish found in most lakes and rivers across the northern hemisphere. Being the apex
predator in most of these waters, healthy pike are a sign of a strong and vibrant ecosystem. Pike are one of the last fish to retain
a sense of mystery about them. Many anglers growing up heard the tales of pike eating ducks or biting the toes of children as they
swam in lakes and rivers. But pike are actually a very fragile fish and need to be treated with great care and respect. Pike do a
great service to our waterways predating on diseased or injured fish. Its well know that pike thrive on neglect and many of the most
promising waters are not available to anglers. Without doubt there are bigger pike out there than the current records and we've all
heard the rumors of monster fish in Russia or Canada. With the world becoming smaller and more accesible there's not a better time
to be fishing for old Esox
